After being selected with the No. 48 overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft, former UNC basketball standout Harrison Ingram has signed a two-way contract with the San Antonio Spurs. Ingram made his debut for the Spurs during the NBA Summer League, where he played a key role in leading the team’s summer league squad to a 4-1 record. As a starter, he averaged 28.6 minutes per game, contributing 10 points and 6.3 rebounds per contest.
Ingram’s single season at Chapel Hill was his best collegiate year. A transfer from Stanford, he joined the UNC basketball program and immediately made an impact, averaging a career-best 12.2 points, along with 8.8 rebounds and 2.2 assists. Playing primarily as a “stretch four,” Ingram adapted to take on more responsibilities in the paint, particularly in rebounding, and became one of the team’s top rebounders. His efforts helped alleviate some pressure on Armando Bacot, the program’s all-time leading rebounder.
Ingram, a third-team All-ACC selection, significantly contributed to the Tar Heels’ Sweet 16 run. Known for his upbeat personality and leadership, he was not only a valuable player but also a positive presence in the locker room.
Although Ingram had the option to return to Chapel Hill for another season, he chose to pursue the next chapter of his basketball career. With his two-way contract, he will have the opportunity to earn minutes with the Spurs’ G-League affiliate while working towards securing a permanent spot on the team’s active roster.
