DONE: Yankees activate highly rated profile to league deal

The New York Yankees reactivated third baseman Jazz Chisholm Jr. from the 10-day injured list on Friday. Chisholm, 26, was injured while sliding into home plate during a game against the Chicago White Sox on August 12. He was placed on the 10-day injured list two days later with a UCL sprain.

Chisholm is expected to rejoin the lineup on Friday night for the Yankees’ game against the Colorado Rockies at home. This move was made possible after the Yankees sent infielder Oswald Peraza back to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Thursday. Peraza had been called up from Triple-A to fill in for Chisholm after his injury. “He’s really close to returning,” Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Thursday before the team’s 6-0 victory over the Cleveland Guardians. Since being acquired from the Miami Marlins on July 27 in exchange for three prospects, Chisholm has quickly made an impact for New York. He became the first player in Yankees history to hit seven home runs in his first 12 games with the team. Prior to joining the Yankees, Chisholm spent over four seasons with the Marlins, posting a .246 average with 66 home runs and 205 RBIs in 403 games. With the Yankees, he is currently batting .316 with seven home runs and 11 RBIs in 14 games. –Field Level Media
