The Green Bay Packers have experienced a busy offseason with various moves in preparation for the 2024 season.
The team has established a solid foundation, with Jordan Love secured as the quarterback for the future and another year for their playmakers to gain experience. However, there has been intense competition at the kicker position between Anders Carlson and Greg Joseph. Carlson was released on Tuesday, and the roster continued to be trimmed on Wednesday.
A few updates…
Greg Joseph has been released.
Veteran CB Robert Rochell is back on practice squad, along with Sean Clifford & rookie seventh-round pick Kalen King.
Also, Carrington Valentine is switching to No. 24. Malik Willis will wear No. 2. #Packers

Packers News: Green Bay Released Greg Joseph
During the preseason, Greg Joseph made 3-of-4 field goal attempts and was perfect on his 2 extra point attempts. Despite his five years of experience as an FAU product, it wasn’t enough to secure the starting kicker position.
As a result, the Packers claimed rookie kicker Brayden Narveson off waivers from the Tennessee Titans. The 24-year-old impressed during the 2024 preseason, going 6-of-7 on field goal attempts and 2-of-2 on extra points.
With no other kicker on the roster, Narveson now has a clear path to becoming the starter in 2024. Although the Packers could still re-sign Joseph or Carlson, they have chosen to explore a different option for now.
