Texas football might have just landed its next standout wide receiver. Jaime Ffrench revealed his commitment to the program on Friday, as reported by Hayes Fawcett on X (formerly Twitter). Ffrench becomes the third five-star recruit to pledge to Texas for the 2025 class.
Ranked No. 19 overall in the 2025 class, Ffrench seems to have picked the Longhorns over strong competition from LSU, Miami, and Tennessee.
“Glad to be home! All Gas, No Brakes, Hook ‘Em,” Ffrench shared with Texas fans.

Texas already has a strong quarterback lineup with Quinn Ewers and Arch Manning likely returning for Jaime Ffrench’s arrival next season. Ffrench, a 6-foot-1, 184-pound receiver with slot tendencies, would be a perfect fit for Texas’ passing game. Earlier this month, they secured the nation’s No. 2 wide receiver, Kaliq Lockett, and now have added another key player to their seventh-ranked 2025 recruiting class.
“The people and the coaching staff — they show you why they want you,” Ffrench told ESPN. “What they’ve built as a class is really appealing.”
As a junior at Mandarin High School in Florida, Ffrench recorded 62 catches for 1,247 yards and 14 touchdowns.
“I wanted to play in the SEC,” Ffrench said. “I’m excited to close it up and be done with it all, committed to the place I want to be.”
Texas football has one of the nation’s best offenses
The Longhorns head into the 2024 season ranked No. 4 in the nation, with strong expectations to secure a spot in the College Football Playoff. They face a challenging opener against Colorado State in Week 1, but it should give fans a glimpse of the future potency of their passing game. While Quinn Ewers remains the undisputed starting quarterback, Arch Manning is expected to share the spotlight in a co-QB1 scenario.
Texas has a demanding schedule ahead, and based on past experience, head coach Steve Sarkisian may need to rely on Manning for significant snaps as the season progresses. In each of his three seasons, Sarkisian has had to call upon his backup quarterback, which could happen as soon as the Colorado State game.
However, Texas is aiming for more than just a playoff berth and a high ranking in 2024. The offense is being built for sustained success in Austin, with ambitions of winning not just one, but multiple national championships.
This long-term vision is largely due to the outstanding recruiting efforts that have brought top talent to the program.
