JUST IN NOW: Caitlin Clark against Fever against Lynx just now due to new step

Caitlin Clark and the Indiana Fever aim to keep their momentum going when they host the Minnesota Lynx this Friday in Indianapolis. Clark recently notched her second career triple-double, recording 24 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds in a 93-86 win against the Los Angeles Sparks on Wednesday. Her efforts contributed to the Fever’s fifth consecutive victory and their ninth in 11 games. Indiana (18-16) has secured a playoff spot in Clark’s rookie season, which the former Iowa standout says she anticipated. “This isn’t just a celebration,” Clark remarked. “I’m not satisfied with simply making the playoffs. I believe we have a team that can win and move forward.”

The Minnesota Lynx (24-9), coming off a 79-74 win over the Chicago Sky on Sunday, are also eyeing postseason success, having won eight of their last nine games. Lynx guard Courtney Williams acknowledged the tough road ahead, with matchups against Washington, Atlanta, New York, and Connecticut away, along with home games versus Chicago and Los Angeles. “Our focus is to be playing our best basketball heading into the postseason,” Williams said. Napheesa Collier leads the Lynx with 20.4 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, followed by Kayla McBride’s 15.9 points and Williams’ 11 points and team-high 5.4 assists.

For the Fever, Kelsey Mitchell is the top scorer with 19 points per game, while Clark contributes 18.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 8.4 assists. Rookie Aliyah Boston adds 13.7 points and leads the team with 9.1 rebounds. This will be the third meeting between the teams this season, with each side winning one game so far. Indiana claimed an 81-74 victory on July 14, while Minnesota responded with a 90-80 win on August 24. Indiana is strong at home with a 10-5 record, while Minnesota holds a 9-6 mark on the road.
