Amari Allen, a towering 6’7″, 180-pound wing, had been a major target for Wisconsin head coach Greg Gard and his staff. After earning an offer in July and taking an unofficial visit earlier this summer, he was expected to make an official visit to Wisconsin this weekend—coincidentally when the Badgers football team faces Alabama. However, Allen ultimately decided to commit to the Crimson Tide.
Allen had already taken an official visit to Alabama the weekend of August 31st, becoming their first commit in the 2025 class. A Wisconsin native, he recently transferred from IMG Academy to Ashwaubenon High School in Green Bay and is now considered one of the top two players in the state for 2025.
His commitment to Alabama leaves Wisconsin looking for other options. Allen would have been the final piece of their 2025 recruiting class, which currently includes four-star guard Zach Kinziger, three-star center Will Garlock, and New Zealand guard Hayden Jones. The Badgers will now shift their focus to finding another key player for the cycle.
