Akeem Glaspie of the Indy Star reported on September 12 that former NBA top draft pick Greg Oden is resigning from his role as an assistant coach for Butler’s men’s basketball team, with McCaffery expected to take over.

If Connor McCaffery joins the Butler Bulldogs coaching staff, it will mark a reunion with his younger brother Patrick, who recently transferred from Iowa to Butler. Their younger brother, Jack, has also committed to Butler and is set to join the team in 2025.
