SAD NEWS: Bears confirms wide receiver departure just now

The Chicago Bears face a challenging game on Sunday against the Houston Texans, which is expected to attract significant attention as fans anticipate seeing Caleb Williams in action. However, the No. 1 draft pick may be without his top two receivers, Rome Odunze (sprained knee) and Keenan Allen (heel), who are both questionable for the game despite practicing on Friday. To be cautious, the Bears have elevated wide receiver Collin Johnson from the practice squad, according to a report by Aaron Wilson. Additionally, the team signed Scott Daly to the 53-man roster and placed Ryan Bates on Injured Reserve (IR).

The Bears faced difficulties on offense in their season opener, with Caleb Williams struggling to find his rhythm. At times, he seemed overwhelmed in the pocket, and the offensive line didn’t offer much support when the protection broke down.

However, the defense stepped up, contributing both a defensive and special teams touchdown to secure their first victory in the Caleb Williams era.

Sunday night’s game could prove more challenging, as CJ Stroud is typically careful with the ball, making it harder for the Bears to replicate their previous success. The matchup will be a significant test for the revamped Bears, especially if one of their key players is unavailable.
