SAD NEWS JUST NOW: Fresh injury updates release includes 5-star blockbuster

On Monday, Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke to the media during his daily press conference, providing significant updates on several injured key players.

The latest injury report from DeBoer contained mostly positive news. Alabama has a BYE week before their big game against No. 2 Georgia on September 28th, which will allow additional time for injured players to recover. Georgia, who dropped behind Texas in the updated AP Poll on Sunday, will be their next opponent.

Alabama football secured a dominant 42-10 victory over Wisconsin in Madison on Saturday, delivering an impressive performance despite the Badgers losing their starting quarterback, Tyler Van Dyke, to injury. The game highlighted Alabama’s depth and talent on both offense and defense. However, the Crimson Tide dealt with several injuries during the win, the most significant being a head injury to star defensive back Malachi Moore.

On Monday, head coach Kalen DeBoer provided injury updates, according to Nick Kelly of AL.com. DeBoer described Moore’s injury as a “hit to the head,” noting that while Moore quickly ran off the field, he must follow proper protocols for head injuries. DeBoer mentioned positive signs in Moore’s recovery over the first couple of days.

In addition to Moore, Alabama lost linebacker Qua Russaw and running back Richard Young during the Wisconsin game. While DeBoer remained uncertain about Young’s status, he expressed more optimism regarding Russaw, stating the bye week would give the linebacker time to recover and possibly return to practice later in the week.

Wide receiver and punt returner Cole Adams, who sustained an arm injury in Week 2 against South Florida, was also absent against Wisconsin. DeBoer noted that Adams is making progress toward recovery.

With a bye week ahead, Alabama will look to get its injured players healthy before facing No. 2 Georgia in a highly anticipated matchup in Tuscaloosa in Week 5.
