Donald Trump is set to attend the Alabama Crimson Tide’s game against Georgia at Bryant-Denny Stadium on September 28, as confirmed by his campaign team on Wednesday. Rumors about his attendance had been circulating since the weekend. Earlier in the week, Alabama Republican Party Chairman John Wahl acknowledged the possibility, expressing excitement at the prospect. Wahl told AL.com that “the Republican Party is very excited” about Trump’s potential visit.
On Wednesday, Sen. Katie Britt tweeted about hosting Trump and Sen. Steve Daines in Tuscaloosa, using the hashtag #RollTide. Wahl also noted that Alabama and Trump share a special bond, and the state is always happy to welcome him.
It remains unclear whether the recent reported assassination attempt on Trump in Florida might affect his plans. Trump has attended two Alabama games during his presidency, with the team splitting those games at 1-1.
