The Texas Rangers revealed their 2024 minor league award recipients yesterday:

– **Defender of the Year**: Cody Freeman
– **True Ranger Award**: Jax Biggers
**Alejandro Osuna**, 22, is a left-handed outfielder who split his season between High-A Hickory and Double-A Frisco. He posted a .292/.362/.507 slash line over 461 plate appearances, stole 17 bases (on 23 attempts), and mainly played center field. His performance improved after moving up to Frisco, where he hit .306/.379/.523 in 265 plate appearances. Osuna, signed as an international free agent in October 2020, will be Rule 5 eligible after next season.
**Alejandro Rosario**, 22, was drafted in the fifth round of the 2023 MLB Draft from the University of Miami. He debuted this year and exceeded expectations, finishing with a 2.24 ERA in 88.1 innings between Low-A and High-A. Rosario struck out 129 batters, walked 13, and allowed only two home runs. He’s now appearing on top 100 prospect lists.
**Bryan Magdaleno**, 23, a left-handed reliever, had a breakout 2024 season. After limited innings in 2023, he dominated with a 1.27 ERA across 42.2 innings in 36 appearances at various levels, including High-A and Double-A. Magdaleno struck out 68 batters and allowed just one home run. He will be Rule 5 eligible this offseason.
**Cody Freeman**, 23, primarily played third base at Double-A Frisco this year, hitting .264/.321/.432 over 123 games. A fourth-round pick in 2019, Freeman will be Rule 5 eligible for the second time this offseason.
**Jax Biggers**, 27, played 117 games for Triple-A Round Rock, covering multiple infield positions. He posted a .271/.389/.381 slash line and will become a free agent at the end of the season.
