DONE DEAL: Gators’ confirm new signing of a 5-star just now

The high school football season is in full swing for Florida commits, with many having standout performances in recent games. Here’s a recap of how some of the Gators’ verbal commitments fared on the field last week:

2025 Commits:

4-star WR Vernell Brown III: Jones High remains unbeaten at 4-0 after defeating Osceola. Brown had an impressive 12 catches for 195 yards in the win. Over the first four games, he has amassed 490 yards on 36 receptions and scored four touchdowns, leading his team in receiving yards per game and touchdowns. A rescheduled game against Winter Park is tonight.

4-star Edge Jalen Wiggins: Rickards High (Tallahassee, FL) is 3-2 after a road loss to Colquitt County (GA). Wiggins’ season stats so far include 15 tackles, one tackle for loss (TFL), one sack, and a fumble recovery, according to Maxpreps.

4-star CB Ben Hanks Jr.: Miami’s Booker T. Washington is now 2-2 after a blowout loss to Lakeland. Hanks contributed 2 tackles and caught a touchdown pass in the game. Over four games, he has recorded 15 tackles and intercepted three passes, returning one for a touchdown.

4-star RB Waltez Clark: Tampa Plant is 2-3 following a loss to Sumner. Clark had 10 carries for 20 yards and a touchdown, along with five receptions for 64 yards. So far, he has 235 rushing yards on 35 carries and three rushing touchdowns, along with 15 catches for 232 receiving yards and three receiving touchdowns.

4-star LB Myles Johnson: T.R. Miller (Brewton, AL) is undefeated at 5-0. Johnson, who also plays running back, had 132 yards and two touchdowns on just two carries and returned the opening kickoff for an 88-yard touchdown.

4-star S Demetres Samuel Jr.: Palm Bay Heritage is 1-4 after losing their fourth straight game. Highlights from his recent performances are available.

3-star WR Joshua Moore: Pembroke Pines West Broward moved to 3-2 with a 35-0 victory over Flanagan. Moore had 3 catches for 39 yards, bringing his season total to 27 catches for 474 yards and five touchdowns.

3-star WR Naeshaun Montgomery: Miami Central improved to 4-1 after a comeback win over American Heritage. Montgomery recorded 2 catches for 75 yards and a touchdown, bringing his season totals to 389 yards on 15 catches and three receiving touchdowns.

3-star TE Tae’shaun Gelsey: Jacksonville Riverside is 3-2 after beating Ribault. Gelsey had a 40-yard touchdown in the game, and through five games, he has 27 catches for 379 yards and eight touchdowns.

3-star TE Micah Jones: Madison Central (MS) is 3-1 after a win last week. Jones caught a touchdown in his second consecutive game.

3-star RB Chad Gasper: Fulshear’s Katy Jordan (TX) remains undefeated at 4-0, though Gasper has yet to play this season due to an injury.

3-star DL Jeramiah McCloud: Leesburg Lee County (GA) is 5-0. McCloud missed his second straight game, but in three games this season, he’s recorded 21 tackles (7 TFL), one sack, and a pick-six.

3-star DL Joseph Mbatchou: Loganville Grayson (GA) improved to 4-1. Mbatchou logged two tackles and two quarterback hurries in the latest win. He has 8 tackles (3 TFL) and six quarterback hurries on the season.

3-star P Hayden Craig: Bridgton Academy (ME) is now 3-1 after suffering their first loss last Sunday.

2026 Commits:

4-star QB Will Griffin: Tampa Jesuit is 2-2 and was off last week. So far, Griffin has thrown for 772 yards and 10 touchdowns with two interceptions, adding 43 rushing yards and a touchdown on the ground.

4-star CB Jaelen Waters: Armwood (Seffner, FL) is 5-0 after a win last week. Waters recorded a tackle and a pass deflection, bringing his season totals to 8 tackles, an interception, and two pass deflections.

3-star S Devin Jackson: Orlando First Academy is 5-0. Jackson had 7 tackles and two interceptions in the latest win. So far this season, he has 46 tackles, 3 interceptions, 4 pass deflections, and a fumble recovery.
