Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback achieved a significant career milestone during the team’s 38-33 defeat to the Washington Commanders on Monday night.
QB hits 100 career passing touchdowns
Early in the first quarter, Burrow connected with wide receiver Ja’Marr Chase on a remarkable 41-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring. The play was not only a highlight but also marked the 100th passing touchdown of Burrow’s career.

Burrow’s 100th passing touchdown came in his 55th career game, tying him for the seventh-fewest games to reach the milestone in NFL history. Kansas City Chiefs star Patrick Mahomes holds the record as the fastest quarterback to reach 100 passing touchdowns, achieving it in just 40 games.

Burrow didn’t stop at 100 touchdowns, as he added two more during the game against Washington, bringing his career total to 102. However, his efforts weren’t enough to prevent the Bengals from losing, dropping them to 0-3 on the season. Cincinnati’s playoff chances now look slim—since 1990, only four of 160 teams that started 0-3 have made the postseason.
Despite the rough start, Burrow remains optimistic about the season, noting that with 14 games left, a lot can still happen. “It’s an exciting opportunity, just like every season is,” Burrow said. “There are going to be some big games down the stretch, and we haven’t faced any division opponents yet. We’re by no means out of it.”
Though Burrow hit a major career milestone, the loss overshadowed the moment. He likely would have preferred a win over personal achievement, but it wasn’t meant to be. The Bengals will aim for their first victory of the season in Week 4 against the Carolina Panthers.
