DEPARTURE NEWS JUST NOW: Broncos Blockbuster depart due to shocking reasons with club to play for rivals club

Injuries have plagued the San Francisco 49ers throughout 2024, and things continue to worsen.

During their 27-24 loss to the Los Angeles Rams, defensive tackle Javon Hargrave reportedly suffered a season-ending torn triceps injury. This adds to an already long list of issues, including Christian McCaffrey’s mysterious Achilles tendinitis, games missed by Deebo Samuel and George Kittle, and even Brock Purdy’s back soreness. The 49ers are starting to resemble a hospital ward rather than a Super Bowl contender.

While some players are expected to recover soon, Hargrave’s injury presents a major challenge without an obvious replacement. One potential solution could be reuniting with former 49er D.J. Jones, who currently plays for the Denver Broncos. Jones spent five seasons with San Francisco and was recently mentioned by ESPN’s Dan Graziano as a possible trade candidate due to Denver’s struggles.

“Early signs suggest the Broncos might be facing a tough season, and Jones, who predates coach Sean Payton, could be on the move,” Graziano noted.

Turning 30 in January, Jones may not be in line for a long-term deal with a new team, but he could provide value as a short-term addition. With six tackles and a quarterback hit through two games, he has shown he can contribute.

Though Denver earned its first win of the season, their playoff hopes remain slim with a rebuilding roster. On the other hand, despite the 49ers’ 1-2 record, their focus remains on a championship.

Jones, who made an impact with seven sacks and 22 tackles for loss between 2019-2021 during his 49ers stint, has been a valuable asset in Denver’s defense this season, saving four total points, according to Sports Info Solutions. With Hargrave out, Jones’ experience in the 49ers’ system makes him an appealing option. Keep an eye on this potential move in the coming weeks.
