Jahan Dotson was hyped as “the solution” for the Philadelphia Eagles, with the narrative being that Philly GM Howie Roseman had once again outsmarted an unsuspecting rival — this time, the Washington Commanders’ new GM Adam Peters. So, how’s that working out for you, Philly?
The Commanders traded their 2022 first-rounder Dotson and a 2025 fifth-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for a third-round and two seventh-round picks in 2025. So far, there’s no sign of the Eagles — who are in dire need of wide receiver help — pulling off a steal here.
Even playing with QB Jalen Hurts hasn’t made a difference for Dotson. Injuries to A.J. Brown (hamstring) and DeVonta Smith (concussion) have opened up snaps, but Dotson has only managed to catch three passes for 14 yards this season. While Smith recently praised Dotson, calling him a receiver he admires and someone he’s learned from, the reality is that Dotson’s time with the Eagles is looking eerily similar to his stint with the Commanders.
