COMMITMENT NEWS: Nebraska confirm another QB 5 star commitment done deal today

Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of Nebraska QB Dylan Raiola, has committed to play football at Nebraska, continuing a family legacy. Dayton, a left-handed quarterback from Buford High School in Georgia, is part of the 2026 recruiting class. His father, Dominic Raiola, was a standout at Nebraska before a long NFL career, and his uncle, Donovan, is the Huskers’ offensive line coach. His older brother, Dylan, is already starting as Nebraska’s quarterback this season.

The Raiola family continues to strengthen its Nebraska legacy. Dayton Raiola, the son of Dominic and younger brother of Dylan, announced over the weekend that he will be playing for Nebraska. Like his father, who played for the Cornhuskers from 1997-2000 before a long NFL career, and his brother Dylan, who is currently Nebraska’s starting quarterback, Dayton follows the family tradition.

Dylan, a top recruit who initially committed to Georgia, is now a freshman starter at quarterback for the Huskers. There’s potential for a smooth transition where Dylan stays for three years and Dayton redshirts, ensuring a seamless Raiola quarterback presence. Dayton, a left-handed QB from Buford, Georgia, is rated as a three-star recruit by 247 Sports and has already shown promise this season.

Dayton is considered a three-star recruit, known for his mobility and leadership skills on a Buford team that has started 4-1 this season. He is expected to play a major role in recruiting talent for Nebraska alongside his family members involved with the program.

Nebraska has officially secured the commitment of five-star quarterback Dylan Raiola, one of the top-rated players in the 2024 recruiting class. Raiola flipped his commitment from Georgia to Nebraska earlier, marking a huge win for head coach Matt Rhule and his team. As a high-ranking prospect, Raiola is expected to make an immediate impact and elevate the Huskers’ quarterback room alongside other talented recruits like Daniel Kaelin.

This commitment adds significant strength to Nebraska’s 2024 recruiting class, which has now risen into the top 25 nationally. Raiola’s decision, influenced by his family legacy with Nebraska, is seen as a pivotal moment for the program, providing stability and leadership for the team’s future
