Alabama football saw three players sustain injuries during their game against Wisconsin, and their statuses were uncertain as they prepared for Saturday night’s matchup against No. 2 Georgia in Tuscaloosa.
For the first time, the SEC has mandated that availability reports be released by member schools every Wednesday before conference games. These reports will be updated daily, with a final report issued no later than 90 minutes before kickoff.
Alabama’s first availability report of the week came out Wednesday night, bringing good news for Tide fans.
Senior safety Malachi Moore and sophomore wide receiver Cole Adams were both absent from the report, meaning they are cleared to play Saturday. Moore had been in concussion protocol after the Wisconsin game but returned to practice late last week, according to Kalen DeBoer on Monday.
Adams, who missed the Wisconsin game after injuring his arm against USF, appears to have recovered well enough to participate this weekend.
Three players were listed as “probable” on Alabama’s availability report, including starting linebacker Qua Russaw. DeBoer expressed optimism about Russaw’s recovery earlier in the week, and his probable status strongly indicates he’ll be ready for Saturday.
Third-string running back Richard Young and reserve linebacker Jeremiah Alexander, who suffered an injury during fall camp, were also listed as probable. Alexander could make his season debut against Georgia, providing additional depth to Kane Wommack’s defense.
Georgia also released their availability report, listing wide receiver London Humphreys, running back Roderick Robinson II, and offensive guard Tate Ratledge as “out” for Saturday. Defensive linemen Mykel Williams and Jordan Hall, along with wide receiver Sacovie White, are “questionable,” while defensive lineman Warren Brinson is listed as “probable.”
