JUST IN: WNBA Legend Sheryl Swoopes sends a strong message about narrative of Her hate on Caitlin Clark just now

The Indiana Fever had an incredible 2024 season, securing 20 wins and making the playoffs for the first time since 2016. Rookie sensation Caitlin Clark made an enormous impact in her debut WNBA season, breaking multiple records along the way.

WNBA legend Sheryl Swoopes recently spoke on the podcast *Unapologetically Angel* to address rumors that she dislikes Caitlin Clark. Swoopes expressed frustration with the narrative, stating that both she and Clark are likely tired of the drama and that there’s no animosity between them.

“I think I understand why it happens,” Swoopes explained. “Whenever people hear Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark, they think there’s a rivalry. So when it’s Sheryl Swoopes and Caitlin Clark, they assume the same. But it’s all ridiculous. None of it’s true.”

Swoopes also highlighted the bond between WNBA players who wear the #22 jersey, including herself, A’ja Wilson, and Clark—all part of the Nike family.

“It’s amusing when I think about the #22’s in the league,” Swoopes continued. “I wore it, A’ja wears it, Caitlin wears it, and we’re all Nike athletes. People are creating narratives that just aren’t there. I’m old enough to be her aunt, and honestly, I’m over it, and I imagine she is too.”

However, Swoopes did acknowledge making one misstep when discussing Clark.

“The only time I slipped up talking about Caitlin was on a podcast back in February. I apologized for it, but people still insist I dislike her.”
