Alabama football was already missing one of its top receivers due to injury heading into the game against Vanderbilt. Then, in the first half in Nashville, another key receiver took a hard hit.
Kobe Prentice, who made a critical third-down catch late in the second quarter, was hit by multiple Vanderbilt defenders. He immediately left the field with the Alabama medical staff and went to the locker room.
After a review, the play was not ruled targeting.
The Crimson Tide was already playing without starting receiver Kendrick Law. Other available receivers include Ryan Williams, Germie Bernard, Emmanuel Henderson Jr., Cole Adams, and Caleb Odom.
Prentice, a junior from Calera, came into the game with seven catches for 92 yards and a touchdown. His first-down catch was part of a scoring drive for Alabama. At halftime, Alabama was trailing Vanderbilt 23-14 with 1:25 left.
