COMMITMENT: Alabama confirms 4-star TE Block Booster commitment from North Carolina just now

Alabama football secured a key recruiting victory on Tuesday by flipping tight end Marshall Pritchett’s commitment. A four-star prospect in the 2025 class according to the 247Sports composite rankings, Pritchett announced on social media that he would be decommitting from North Carolina to join the Crimson Tide.

He also hinted at early enrollment at Alabama, stating, “After much thought and prayer, I have decided to step away from my commitment to the University of North Carolina and switch to the University of Alabama. I’m excited for this opportunity and can’t wait to get to work in January.”

The 247Sports composite ranks Pritchett as the No. 22 tight end and No. 404 overall prospect in the 2025 class. Standing at 6-foot-6 and weighing 225 pounds, he brings significant size to the position. His father, Wes Pritchett, played college football at Notre Dame and had a stint in the NFL.

247Sports scouting director Andrew Ivins praised Pritchett’s football IQ and competitiveness in catch-and-run situations, noting that while he has limited in-line blocking experience, his willingness to block on the perimeter is a positive sign.

Pritchett is projected to be an F-tight end, capable of lining up in various positions to create mismatches, though he may need a developmental period to reach his full potential.

Pritchett plays for Rabun Gap-Nacoochee School in Georgia, where he recorded 46 receptions for 674 yards and six touchdowns in 2023. His commitment marks Alabama’s 23rd in the 2025 class, which is currently ranked second nationally, just behind Ohio State.
