The Green Bay Packers have acquired another property near Lambeau Field, continuing their land expansion efforts. According to county records, Lambeau Field Redevelopment Inc., a Packers-affiliated entity, purchased the Green Bay Distillery located at 835 Mike McCarthy Way in Ashwaubenon for $4.5 million. The transaction was finalized on Monday.
Despite the ownership change, Green Bay Distillery remains open for business, including taking reservations and parking bookings for the NFL Draft in April, with no current plans for operational changes.
The 2.72-acre property is one of the Packers’ largest recent acquisitions. Previously owned by the Green Bay Area Chamber of Commerce and Lambeau Village LLC, a subsidiary of Midland Management, the land had been listed for sale or lease.
Earlier this summer, the Packers also acquired the Team 2 Racing property at 841 Mike McCarthy Way for $1.2 million, adding half an acre to their holdings. They have also purchased several other properties along the 800-block of Mike McCarthy Way, including Soap Products, which is located between the Clark Hinkle and Ray Nitschke practice fields and near the Don Hutson Center. The Packers paid $1,163,750 for that site earlier this month.
Additionally, the Packers own other commercial properties in the area, such as 790 McCarthy Way, which is close to Ray Nitschke Field and Lambeau Field parking lot 13, and the BP gas station at the intersection of McCarthy Way and S. Oneida St., acquired in April for $2.5 million.
