Alabama head coach Kalen DeBoer just delivered a significant injury update on the Crimson Tide. Unfortunately for Alabama’s offense, which has had a solid if occasionally inconsistent season under senior QB Jalen Milroe, DeBoer confirmed that wide receiver Cole Adams will miss the remainder of the season due to a leg injury sustained against Missouri.
In sharing the news, DeBoer, in his first season leading Alabama, commended Adams for his resilience and highlighted the health challenges the freshman has faced this year.
“He’s someone who gives his all,” DeBoer told Alabama beat writer Nick Kelly about Adams. “He had an (arm) injury earlier this season. Seeing the determination he put into recovering from that, you really got to understand a lot about his character as both a player and a person. He’s shown real toughness, and it’s unfortunate he’s injured again now.”
Alabama’s playoff hopes, however, remain strong.
Wide receiver Cole Adams (No. 7) was last seen on the field running after a catch that set up a Crimson Tide touchdown against South Carolina at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
Although Alabama has suffered two losses, they’re still in a strong position to qualify for the first twelve-team College Football Playoff, currently ranked 11th in the AP Poll. A pivotal game awaits them, as they face No. 14 LSU on Saturday, November 9th—a matchup that’s essentially a playoff qualifier. The winner will be in a great spot for the bracket, while the losing team will likely be out of the title race.
Following this showdown, the schedule eases up for both teams, with LSU hosting No. 24 Vanderbilt, while Alabama’s next three games look relatively manageable.
