Lane Kiffin and Ole Miss pulled off a significant late recruiting move on Wednesday, landing a commitment from him, a former Alabama commit, just days after the four-star wide receiver visited during the Rebels’ Week 11 win over Georgia.
Standing 6-foot-3 and 190 pounds, Cunningham hails from Ackerman, Mississippi, and ranks as ESPN’s No. 21 overall prospect for the 2025 cycle. Previously the No. 2 wide receiver prospect in 2025, he had been a key member of Kalen DeBoer’s inaugural Alabama recruiting class since his July commitment. His flip to Ole Miss delivers a setback to Alabama’s top-ranked class, according to ESPN’s team rankings.
Now the highest-rated prospect in the Ole Miss class, Cunningham joins four other ESPN 300 pledges, including top in-state recruits cornerback Cortez Thomas (No. 125), outside linebacker Jarcoby Hopson (No. 190), and defensive tackle Andrew Maddox (No. 257). Ladarian Clardy, a four-star safety from Pensacola, Florida, also joins the ESPN 300 group in a Rebels class that currently ranks No. 29 and has 19 total commitments.
Before flipping, Cunningham was Alabama’s third-highest ranked 2025 recruit. A three-sport athlete at Choctaw County High School, he recorded 48 catches for 1,138 yards and 14 touchdowns last fall, setting several school records. Initially committing to Alabama on July 13 over offers from Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Florida, Auburn, and Tennessee, Cunningham remained committed well into his senior season. However, Ole Miss continued its pursuit, and Cunningham made multiple visits to Oxford, including his latest on Saturday, where he watched the Rebels beat Georgia 28-10. Now, he stands as a prized addition to Kiffin’s 2025 class.
The Rebels, ranked No. 11 in the latest College Football Playoff standings, are on a bye in Week 12 before heading to face Florida on November 23.
