BREAKING NEWS: Ohio State coach call out 5-star commit for flipping to Oregon

Where are all the Ohio State doubters now? From the beginning of the College Football Playoff, many critics claimed the Buckeyes wouldn’t make much of an impact. Just ask the Tennessee Volunteers and Oregon Ducks how that turned out.

Ohio State has cruised through the first two postseason games with ease, delivering an especially humiliating loss to Oregon. This victory is even sweeter for the Buckeyes, considering the high-profile recruits who left Ohio State for Oregon, including 5-star cornerback Na’eem Offord, ranked as the No. 10 player nationally by the 247Sports Composite.

It seems Ohio State associate head coach and cornerbacks coach Tim Walton hasn’t forgotten, either. He appeared to call out Offord and others on social media for choosing Oregon over the Buckeyes.

Ohio State fans, meanwhile, have taken aim at Offord after their dominant performance against Oregon. Many believe Walton’s comments were a message to Offord, and it’s hard to disagree. Offord was once a long-time Ohio State commit before flipping to Oregon just ahead of the Early Signing Period—a major win for the Ducks at the time.

However, Ohio State got its revenge in the Rose Bowl, delivering a blowout victory that avenged an earlier loss to Oregon in Eugene. For Ryan Day and the Buckeyes, this win was especially gratifying as they set their sights on another National Championship.

Now that Oregon has joined the Big Ten, a fierce rivalry between these two programs seems inevitable. While the Ducks may have celebrated flipping Offord, Ohio State decisively took the upper hand in Pasadena. The Buckeyes are now fully focused on claiming another title, leaving no room for doubt about their dominance.
