Former Broncos QB visiting Browns, Giants

Wilson led the Pittsburgh Steelers to a 6-5 record in his 11 starts, totaling 2,482 passing yards, 16 touchdowns, and five interceptions. After playing collegiately at NC State and Wisconsin, Wilson was drafted by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round (No. 75 overall) in the 2012 NFL Draft. In his 10 seasons in Seattle, Wilson made nine Pro Bowl Appearances, won Super Bowl XLVIII, and was named the 2020 Walter Payton Man of the Year. In 2022, the Broncos acquired Wilson and a 2022 fourth-round pick for quarterback Drew Lock, tight end Noah Fant, defensive lineman Shelby Harris, two first-round picks, two second-round picks, and a 2022 fifth-round selection. Wilson played better in year two under Head Coach Sean Payton, but his tenure in Denver didn’t meet expectations. Denver cut bait last off-season, allowing Wilson to sign with the Steelers.
Wilson visiting the Cleveland Browns before the New York Giants is interesting. With New York Jets free-agent quarterback Aaron Rodgers reportedly deciding between the Steelers and the Giants, Wilson is dangling in the wind as a potential fallback option for both organizations. Cleveland jumping in and signing Wilson before Rodgers’ decision could have major ramifications across the league. Both the Giants and the Steelers would be left scrambling for a QB1 option in that scenario.
