Breaking News: Tyler Glasnow Injury Lead Dodgers To Emergency Trade For $56 Million Ace

The Los Angeles Dodgers have shockingly struggled with pitching depth for the entire season. Tony Gonsolin was hurt during the early part of spring training. Clayton Kershaw has yet to make his big league debut. Blake Snell is on the injured list. Shohei Ohtani hasn’t returned from Tommy John surgery yet, and the Dodgers’ pitching woes just got even worse.

On Monday night, the Dodgers placed star pitcher Tyler Glasnow on the 15-day IL with a shoulder injury.

This depletes the Dodgers’ pitching staff even more than it already was, and it could ignite a blockbuster trade for a new pitcher.

The Dodgers would begin pursuing Miami Marlins ace Sandy Alcántara in a blockbuster trade. Alcántara hasn’t been great this season, but it’s his first few starts back on the mound after undergoing Tommy John surgery. Once he finds his stride, he could return to his former Cy Young-caliber self.

The Dodgers could package prospects like James Outman, Dalton Rushing, Justin Wrobleski or Bobby Miller in a deal for Alcántara. They definitely have the young pieces to get a deal done.

An emergency move like this can seem like a knee-jerk reaction to an injury, but given the sheer volume of pitching injuries, this would be different. Plus, Alcántara has multiple more years of affordable team control on his contract.

A trade for the Marlins’ ace would place him next to Yoshinobu Yamamoto, Roki Sasaki, Shohei Ohtani and others for the next few years.

If the Dodgers can pull a deal like this off, they’ll be even better than before.
