ICYMI: Alabama wins another third place this weekend

The Alabama men’s cross country team, ranked No. 9, secured a third-place finish at the Firehawk Invitational in Daneville, Ala., on Saturday. The team had two athletes place in the top five, finishing behind Cumberland and SCAD Atlanta.

Head coach Dan Waters commented, “We had a small group today, but I’m proud of how each of them competed. They gained valuable experience and represented Alabama well. Now, we shift our focus to the next meet on Sept. 27 as we aim to keep improving throughout the season.”

Freshman Evan Trapp took second place with a time of 25:28.31, while fellow freshman Dylan Wood finished fourth in 25:43.04. Other notable finishers for Alabama included Knox Exton in 16th, Drew Dennis in 18th, and Kai Crawford in 32nd, rounding out the team’s top five in the men’s 8k.

– Zach Foster earned Alabama men’s tennis their first win at the ITA All-American Championships, defeating Harsh Parikh of Stanford in straight sets.
– Alabama volleyball lost to No. 18 Florida State in three sets, with scores of 23-25, 23-25, and 13-25.
– Alabama women’s golf dropped to 11th place after day two of the Mason Rudolph Championship, finishing 5-under par as a team.

Notable Mention
NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe reported that former Alabama offensive lineman Cam Robinson will play for the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday despite dealing with a knee injury.

Additionally, Alabama’s men’s hockey team defeated Louisville, while the women’s hockey team claimed a victory over High Point.
