Shohei Ohtani is having the kind of dominant season the Los Angeles Dodgers anticipated when they signed him to a massive contract in free agency last offseason. Although he can’t pitch due to an elbow injury he sustained with the Angels in 2023, he has remained a top slugger, showcasing his exceptional hitting ability.
That prowess was on full display again Tuesday night against the Milwaukee Brewers. Ohtani blasted a solo home run in the third inning, extending the Dodgers’ lead to 2-0. The shot, which traveled 413 feet and landed in the second deck in right field, marked his 37th home run of the season, leading the National League.
Brewers right fielder Sal Frelick had an ideal reaction to the moonshot, simply standing still and watching as it soared well out of the park. Check out this stunning display:
The ump cam view is pretty cool, too:
The Dodgers won the game, 7-2, and are now 71-49 on the season.
