The Washington Commanders have added defensive end Justin Hollins to their practice squad, as announced by the team on Thursday.
Hollins, 28, rejoins the Commanders after initially signing with them during training camp. He spent eight days with the team but was released during the final roster cuts on August 27. Hollins played in the Commanders’ final preseason game against the New England Patriots, where he recorded one tackle and a quarterback hit.
Originally drafted by the Denver Broncos in the fifth round (No. 156 overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, Hollins was waived by the Broncos on September 5, 2020, and claimed by the Los Angeles Rams the next day. He was part of the Rams’ Super Bowl 56-winning team after the 2021 season before being released in November 2022. The Green Bay Packers claimed him that same month, and he re-signed with them for the 2023 season but was released in October.
During the 2023 season, Hollins also spent time on the practice squads of the New York Giants and Los Angeles Chargers.
