DONE DEAL NOW: Tension as coach Nick Sirianni depart Eagle due to shocking reason

After suffering a painful upset loss to the Atlanta Falcons, the Philadelphia Eagles entered their matchup against the New Orleans Saints with a lot to prove. Two major concerns loomed from their previous game: their defense and play calling.

Heading into Week 3, the Eagles had the highest yards allowed per carry in the league at 7.8, raising alarms as they prepared to face top running back Alvin Kamara. The Saints boasted the league’s best offense, averaging 45.5 points per game over the first two weeks. Nevertheless, the Eagles’ defense stepped up, limiting New Orleans to just 12 points.

Despite securing the win, Philadelphia’s play calling remained a significant issue. Many early decisions were questionable, and head coach Nick Sirianni’s choice to go for it on fourth down three times proved detrimental. The Eagles found themselves needing a game-winning drive after trailing 12-7 with less than two minutes left.

Had Sirianni opted for two straightforward field goals earlier, they might not have been in such a precarious position. This has prompted many fans to call for his dismissal, especially given the echoes of poor decision-making from the Atlanta game that also cost them.

On social media, opinions are strong, with one fan stating, “Nick Sirianni still needs to be fired,” and another insisting, “Nick Sirianni HAS to be fired tonight.” Some expressed frustration, saying he seemed to be trying to get fired before even making it to the locker room. Although Sirianni has led the team to a Super Bowl and playoff success, the Eagles are struggling to find their rhythm, raising questions about his coaching abilities. For Philadelphia to have a genuine chance at the championship this year, significant improvements are necessary—hopefully without a coaching change.
