The Denver Broncos have brought a former Pro Bowl linebacker onto their practice squad.
The team signed veteran linebacker Kwon Alexander, who had met with them on Tuesday. He was already practicing with the team by Wednesday.
Alexander is recovering from a torn Achilles tendon that he sustained last year while playing for the Steelers. Before the injury, he recorded 41 tackles in nine games with Pittsburgh.

One of the highlights of Alexander’s career was playing 19 games with the New Orleans Saints between 2020 and 2021, during Sean Payton’s tenure. Payton is now in his second season as the Broncos’ head coach.
Alexander earned a Pro Bowl nod in 2017 while with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Since leaving the Bucs after the 2018 season, this is his fifth NFL team, and both he and the Broncos hope he can return to peak form.
Currently, the Broncos are 1-2 on the season, coming off a road victory over the Buccaneers, and they face the 2-1 Jets in Week 4.
