UPDATE JUST NOW: Commanders latest news on Rookie QB

The Washington Commanders, led by No. 2 overall draft pick Jayden Daniels, have gone two consecutive games without punting as they approach Week 4. This includes their exciting 38-33 “Monday Night Football” win over Joe Burrow and the Bengals in Cincinnati. Daniels, 23, delivered his best performance yet, completing 91.3% of his passes for 254 yards and two touchdowns, plus adding another score on the ground. On Thursday, the Commanders announced Daniels as the NFL’s Pepsi Zero Sugar Rookie of the Week for Week 3, his second time winning the award in his first three weeks as a pro.

Daniels also earned Rookie of the Week honors after his Week 1 debut, despite Washington’s 37-20 loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. In that game, he completed 17-of-24 passes for 184 yards and added 88 rushing yards with two touchdowns on the ground. Commanders offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury has helped Daniels thrive early, as the rookie has completed 80.3% of his passes without throwing an interception. In Week 4, Daniels will face the Arizona Cardinals, whose defense ranks mid-tier, allowing an average of 21.3 points and 323.3 total yards per game.
