Dallas Cowboys star edge rusher Micah Parsons is expected to miss several weeks after sustaining a high-ankle sprain in Week 4, and he’s personally updating fans on his recovery.
Cowboys fans were concerned when Parsons was carted off during the team’s Week 4 victory against the New York Giants. He was later diagnosed with a high-ankle sprain, and although the three-time All-Pro is expected to miss multiple games, he won’t be placed on injured reserve as he’s being evaluated on a week-to-week basis.
On Monday, Parsons addressed the situation on his podcast, giving fans insight into his condition. “Yeah, it’s a tough situation, man. I got rolled up on, but it’s football. Things like this happen. I’ll be okay and ready to get back to my team,” Parsons shared. “It’s a minor injury, thank God. People thought it was worse, but it’s just a sprain. I’ll be back out there soon.”
Last season, Parsons racked up 64 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 33 QB hits, and a career-best 14 sacks, earning his third Pro Bowl selection and a second-team All-Pro honor. His slower start this season combined with time off may affect his chances of winning Defensive Player of the Year, but the Cowboys are counting on him to make an impact when he returns.
