In preparation, the Bruins have claimed 25-year-old Jiri Patera, who had just signed a two-year, two-way deal with the Vancouver Canucks in June.
With Joonas Korpisalo slated to start on October 8 against the Florida Panthers, the team now has added depth in net with Patera, along with Brandon Bussi and Michael DePietro.
