The Denver Broncos are considering putting running back Tyler Badie on injured reserve in the wake of his terrifying collapse at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
Badie, 24, took a huge hit from the Jets’ Quincy Williams and – despite managing to walk back to the sidelines under his own power – he then sparked major fears for his health when he fell to the ground seconds later.
He was alert and speaking to medics when he was stretchered back to the locker room and he traveled back to Denver a few hours after his teammates, but head coach Sean Payton has now revealed more about his status going forward.
Speaking to reporters, he said Badie could ‘possibly’ land on injured reserve, which would rule him out for at least the next four games.
Badie was the only Broncos player to miss practice on Wednesday, and he was listed on the team’s report as having a ‘back injury’.
