JUST IN: Commanders sign another key man over Browns after facing injuries

The Cleveland Browns enter Week 5 of the 2024 NFL season facing the same challenge they’ve dealt with since last year: injuries. Unlike in 2023, this season they haven’t been able to overcome them, which has led to some underwhelming performances across the roster.

As they prepare to face the Washington Commanders, head coach Kevin Stefanski knows things need to change, but the injury situation remains a concern. While the official injury report will be released later today, Stefanski provided Friday practice updates regarding what to expect for Cleveland.

The Browns will rule out the following players:

– RB Nick Chubb (still on PUP list)
– RB Nyheim Hines (still on NFI list)
– LB Jordan Hicks
– OL James Hudson (might go on injured reserve, though no decision has been made)
– DE Alex Wright (headed to injured reserve, done for the season)

Additionally, five key players are listed as questionable, including several important offensive pieces:

– OL Jack Conklin
– OL Jed Wills
– TE David Njoku
– RB Pierre Strong
– OL Michael Dunn (could return from the Non-Football Illness list)

With multiple players either headed to IR or listed as questionable, there’s a lot of uncertainty around the roster. Final decisions on the questionable players will come 90 minutes before Sunday’s kickoff in Washington, along with the full injury report later today.
