Indiana Fever president Kelly Krauskopf recently spoke with the media during her introductory interview after being hired following the conclusion of the team’s 2024 WNBA season.
"I would think that if you are a smart basketball player and you watch the way [Caitlin Clark] plays, you would want to play with her."

With the Fever aiming for their first WNBA championship since 2012, Krauskopf highlighted rookie Caitlin Clark as a key figure in leading the team back into title contention. Clark, who just earned the WNBA Rookie of the Year award, helped guide Indiana to its first playoff appearance since 2016 with a 20-20 record and a No. 6 seed.
Krauskopf emphasized the importance of building a strong roster around Clark this offseason, confident that elite free agents will be drawn to playing alongside the talented rookie. “If you’re a smart basketball player and you watch how [Caitlin Clark] plays, you’d want to play with her,” she remarked.
Clark’s impressive rookie campaign included averages of 19.2 points, 8.4 assists, and 5.7 rebounds per game, while also leading the league in assists and the rookie class in both points and assists.
She earned a spot as a WNBA All-Star, starting as point guard for Team WNBA, where she recorded 10 assists in the game, setting a new rookie record for assists in an All-Star appearance.
Krauskopf, with extensive WNBA experience, previously served as the Fever’s general manager from 2000 to 2017 and most recently was the Indiana Pacers’ assistant general manager from 2018 to 2024.
