Many Green Bay Packers fans, along with other NFL followers, were surprised to learn that the New York Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh on Tuesday. Defensive coordinator Jeff Ulbrich has been named as the interim head coach.
Some speculate that former Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers played a significant role in Saleh’s dismissal. Currently, the Packers are in a better position than the Jets.
There’s been talk that Saleh could potentially join the Green Bay Packers’ coaching staff. Packers reporter Zach Krause noted that Saleh was the best man at head coach Matt LaFleur’s wedding, and has connections with Jeff Hafley from their time together in San Francisco. While Saleh might take on a consultant role with the Packers, it’s possible that he will take time off for the rest of the season to evaluate his options for 2025.
Despite the Jets’ struggles, Saleh is credited with maintaining a strong defense, and bringing him on board could elevate the Packers’ already improving defense.
