Philadelphia 76ers rookie Jared McCain has received mostly positive news after a scary fall during a game against the Brooklyn Nets. McCain has been released from the hospital without suffering a concussion, although he did sustain a pulmonary contusion.
Another hard fall this game… this time, it's Sixers' rookie Jared McCain, who came down hard on his back.

He is currently resting at home and won’t be traveling with the team or playing in the 76ers’ preseason finale on Friday in Orlando.
The fall initially seemed much worse, with referee Bill Kennedy quickly halting the game and calling for medical assistance. McCain remained on the ground for several minutes before being helped off the court. While there were initial concerns about a concussion, it was later revealed that the more significant issue was a bruised lung. This type of injury typically heals within one to two weeks, though there’s no set timeline for his return.
McCain, a 6’3″ guard from Duke and the No. 16 pick in the June draft, has shown promise as a sharp shooter, averaging 12.8 points per game in five preseason outings and shooting 37.9% from beyond the arc.
