The Chicago Bears are entering a pivotal moment as they consider moves before the trade deadline. Several areas could use reinforcement, such as linebacker, edge rusher, and tight end, but the most pressing need is the offensive line as the season progresses.
Protecting rookie quarterback Caleb Williams is vital not only for this season but also for the long-term success of the franchise. Although the Bears initially struggled in this area, they’ve improved during their recent winning streak.
Now, the Bears have a chance to bolster their offensive line through the trade market. FanSided’s Nick Villano pointed to Jacksonville Jaguars’ starting tackle, Cam Robinson, as a potential target. “Robinson is a seasoned veteran and one of the few reliable trade options,” Villano said. “There will be competition, but with assets like the Panthers’ second-round pick, the Bears could make a convincing offer.”
Robinson, 29, has been a cornerstone for the Jaguars at left tackle since being drafted 34th overall in 2017. As he enters the final year of his three-year, $54 million contract, Jacksonville may opt to trade him rather than lose him for nothing.
The Bears need help on the offensive line, and with the right assets, they could make a significant move to acquire Robinson and provide Williams the protection needed to thrive as a quarterback.
