DONE DEAL JUST IN: A surprising trade done by Bears in blockbuster

The Chicago Bears head into their bye week with a 4-2 record, having bounced back from a rough start by winning three consecutive games. Excitement is building in the Windy City, and recent rumors will only fuel the enthusiasm of the fanbase.

Sportsmockery.com reports that GM Ryan Poles is not afraid to make a bold move at the trade deadline, with edge rushers Maxx Crosby and Myles Garrett reportedly on his radar.

Raiders owner Mark Davis has made it clear that a trade involving Maxx Crosby is off the table, despite the team trading receiver Davante Adams to the New York Jets on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the Cleveland Browns, sitting at 1-5, also moved wide receiver Amari Cooper to the Buffalo Bills.

Both Crosby and Garrett are elite players, so the Bears would need to make a blockbuster offer to acquire either one. If Chicago pulls it off, it could dramatically improve their team.

Crosby, currently tied for fifth in the league with 5.5 sacks in 2024, is one of the NFL’s most disruptive defenders. He has made three consecutive Pro Bowl appearances and has accumulated 57.5 career sacks. Garrett, a standout from Texas A&M, boasts 92.5 career sacks and has recorded double-digit sacks in each of the last six seasons.

Though Chicago is fifth in the league in team sacks (18), they are looking to add even more pass-rushing power. Last season, the Bears traded for Montez Sweat before the deadline, showing that GM Ryan Poles is willing to make impactful in-season moves.

With the NFL trade deadline set for Nov. 5, the Bears have just over two weeks to strike a deal, and fans are eager to see if Poles can pull off another big trade.
