DONE DEAL: Washington Commanders sign another Offensive Weapon to huge contract done deal

The Washington Commanders will face the Carolina Panthers at Northwest Stadium (formerly FedEx Field) this Sunday for their seventh game of the 2024 season. A key matchup to watch is the Panthers’ defensive line, ranked 31st in run-stop win rate, against the Commanders’ offensive line, which ranks 5th in run-block win rate, according to ESPN. The Panthers have struggled to defend the run, allowing the third-most rushing yards and the most rushing touchdowns, while the Commanders’ ground game has excelled, ranking 4th in rushing yards and first in rushing touchdowns, despite their leading rusher being injured in recent weeks.

The Washington Commanders’ starting RB suffered an injury a few weeks ago

Brian Robinson Jr. appeared on the injury report in Week 5 due to a knee injury. He didn’t practice until Friday, where he was a limited participant, and the Commanders listed him as questionable. Robinson suited up for Week 5 but saw limited action, playing only 23 of 67 offensive snaps in the win against the Cleveland Browns. He managed 18 yards on seven carries and scored two touchdowns.

Robinson did not practice in Week 6 and was once again listed as questionable, but the team ultimately ruled him out. Without him, the Commanders’ rushing attack struggled, posting their lowest rushing total of the season with just 52 yards against the Baltimore Ravens.

The expectation is for him to play

Brian Robinson Jr. was a limited participant in practice on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, and was listed as questionable for the game. According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, the Washington Commanders expect Robinson to play against the Carolina Panthers. However, Schefter did not provide details regarding Robinson’s expected role in tonight’s game.
