DONE DEAL JUST NOW: Miami Dolphins trade a new potential blockbuster deal in the new offseason destination

While there is optimism that Tua Tagovailoa’s return could boost the Miami Dolphins’ push for an AFC playoff spot, nothing is certain. Mike McDaniel’s squad has little room for error as the regular season winds down, and a Week 8 loss to the Arizona Cardinals could be a severe blow. Sitting at 2-4, the Dolphins are in desperate need of a win. With the AFC East title likely out of reach, a wild-card berth is their most realistic path to the postseason.

If the Dolphins fall to the Cardinals, the Buffalo Bills could have the chance to deliver a final blow in Week 9. In that case, GM Chris Grier might need to evaluate his options, which could include trading star wide receiver Tyreek Hill. A new potential destination emerged following Monday Night Football.

Trading Tyreek Hill to Buccaneers could make sense for Dolphins

Tyreek Hill has a long-standing history with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from his days with the Kansas City Chiefs. Could he join them now? The Buccaneers faced a tough loss to the Baltimore Ravens on Monday night, and it wasn’t just the game result that stung—they also lost key wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin to injury. While Evans might only miss a few weeks, Godwin’s injury is season-ending.

Baker Mayfield has been outstanding so far this season, and the Buccaneers have a real shot at another playoff run. Losing Godwin is a huge blow, especially after his 43 receptions for 511 yards and five touchdowns in the first six games. Pairing Hill with Evans (when he’s healthy) could create an unstoppable duo for Mayfield.

If the Dolphins slip out of playoff contention, they might explore their options. Hill, now 30, could potentially fetch a premium draft pick in return. Although Hill previously dismissed trade rumors, the Dolphins might turn their focus to the future if the season continues to unravel.

Trading Hill to the NFC, especially to a team like the Buccaneers, would be a far more favorable move than allowing him to return to the Kansas City Chiefs.
