JUST IN: War thug arise as Bruins blamed Directly over Canadiens Firing of Head Man

I rarely share opinion pieces, but here’s one that discusses Martin St-Louis and Bruins’ head coach Jim Montgomery.

Although the season has just begun, there’s already been talk about the possibility of Martin St-Louis being fired by the Montreal Canadiens.

Here’s my take, or at least my analysis of the situation.

First, do I think Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton will fire Martin St-Louis?

The answer is no, and that got me thinking.

St-Louis won’t be dismissed by the Canadiens, but let’s consider something Renaud Lavoie said back in March 2024:

“Jim Montgomery will coach the Canadiens someday.”

That comment wasn’t made for no reason.

I don’t believe St-Louis will be let go—rightfully so, despite what some are saying.

However, if Jim Montgomery loses his position with the Boston Bruins, things could change.

At that point, I genuinely think St-Louis’s job might become less secure, as Hughes and Gorton could jump at the chance to hire someone like Montgomery, who would be in high demand.

In short, let’s not jump to conclusions.

Montgomery is still in Boston, St-Louis is still in Montreal, and we should give Marty time to prove his critics wrong, just as he’s mentioned.

The takeaway here is simple:

1. Don’t expect Martin St-Louis to be fired anytime soon.
2. But if Jim Montgomery loses his job in Boston, we might start to question things—especially if St-Louis hasn’t turned things around by then.
