The Green Bay Packers head into their bye week with a 6-3 record after a 24-14 loss to the Detroit Lions on Sunday afternoon. In a game marked by heavy rain, both teams leaned on their running games, but when it came time to pass, Lions quarterback Jared Goff was accurate and efficient, while Packers quarterback Jordan Love struggled with inconsistency and poor decision-making.
Green Bay’s passing game also suffered from multiple dropped passes by wide receivers—more than five throughout the game.
One of the game’s most puzzling moments came just before halftime, when Love threw his league-leading 10th interception, which was returned by Lions cornerback Kerby Joseph for a touchdown, putting the Lions up 17-3 at the half.
This questionable throw was part of a recurring pattern this season, where some of Love’s interceptions have left fans wondering, “What was he thinking?”
Packers Head Coach Matt LaFleur is growing tired of fielding questions about Love’s interceptions.
Love ended the day completing 23 of 39 passes for 273 yards, with no touchdowns and the interception, keeping his season total at an NFL-high 10.
After the game, LaFleur, who has repeatedly been questioned about Love’s turnovers, expressed frustration when asked about the pick-six:
“It’s really annoying [having to answer questions about Jordan Love’s interceptions.] He’s fighting, he’s competing. We know we have to take care of the football, but I don’t question his effort—we just have to do it better.”
