Donald Trump has weighed in on whether anything can be done about Caitlin Clark’s relatively modest WNBA salary.
The Indiana Fever star, who was named Rookie of the Year last month, has quickly risen to prominence since joining the WNBA, helping to increase the league’s visibility and popularity.
Despite her success, Clark earned less than £60,000 in her first season, with only minor yearly increases in her four-year contract. The pay gap between her and an NBA rookie, who typically starts at around £900,000 per season, is stark.
In response, WNBA players have chosen to withdraw from their Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) with the league, aiming to negotiate more favorable terms.
Although endorsement deals supplement her income, Clark remains bound by her current contract with the Fever for the next three years, leaving her with a relatively low salary.
