Seven-year veteran safety Justin Reid signed a new contract with the New Orleans Saints. Reid, a former third-round pick, spent the 2024 season with the Kansas City Chiefs but has also played for the Houston Texans.

Reid is coming off yet another successful season in the Kansas City secondary. Starting and appearing in 16 games, the safety finished the year with two interceptions, nine passes defended, 87 tackles, five tackles-for-loss, and two quarterback hits. With his help, the Chiefs made the Super Bowl for the third consecutive season but lost in blowout fashion to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Justin Reid originally entered the league as a third-round pick in the 2018 NFL Draft. Selected by the Houston Texans, the Stanford product immediately became a key contributor for the defense. Appearing in all 16 games while making 12 starts, the rookie finished his inaugural campaign with three interceptions, 10 passes defended, one forced fumble, 88 tackles, two tackles-for-loss, and one quarterback hit. With his help, Houston made the playoffs but lost in the Wild Card Round to the Indianapolis Colts.

The safety continued to grow in Year 2. While injuries limited him to 15 games, he maintained his full-time starting role while recording two interceptions, five passes defended, 78 tackles, one tackle-for-loss, and one quarterback hit. Houston once again made the playoffs and won a playoff game before losing to the eventual Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs.
After two more seasons with the Texans, Justin Reid left Houston and signed a new contract with the Chiefs. Picking up where he left off, Reid became a crucial starter for two separate Super Bowl champions.
Since signing his rookie contract, Justin Reid has appeared in 106 games while making 102 starts. While on the field, the Stanford product has recorded 10 interceptions, 46 passes defended, six sacks, 580 tackles, 23 tackles-for-loss, and 17 quarterback hits.
