Breaking News: Former $61 million All-Pro Safety Expresses Desire To Sign With Eagles
Justin Simmons could be the perfect stop-gap for the Philadelphia Eagles at the safety position.
Following the trade of top safety Chauncey Gardner-Johnson, the Philadelphia Eagles have a major roster hole at his old safety position.

And one former All-Pro thinks he can be the perfect replacement to a defense he is all too familiar with.
Speaking on the “Talkin’ Ball” podcast, All-Pro safety Justin Simmons explained that he would love to end up with the Eagles in free agency and to reunite with defensive coordinator Vic Fangio.
“There’s a lot of good things about Philly,” Simmons said. “Their offense is clearly one of the most talented in the league, that offensive line is unbelievable. But what the defense did this past season to go win that Super Bowl is crazy. You can tell the leadership there, top down, is by far one of the best in the league. To have an opportunity to go play in Philly, especially reuniting with Vic and (Christian Parker), is high on the list.”
The relationship between Simmons, Parker, and Fangio had been up for debate even as far as last season when the veteran safety was released from the Denver Broncos. Clearly, all parties appear to have buried the hatchet, though.
Simmons spent last year with the Atlanta Falcons and while he did record over 60 tackles and two interceptions, he was nowhere near his same elite self that he was in Denver.
In a defensive scheme that he’s all too familiar with in the Eagles, though, Simmons could get back to that elite level if the organization is comfortable enough to take that chance.
