COMMITMENT JUST NOW: Four-star LB commit to Longhorns Football, Michigan Gators Ohio state and 2 more

Steve Sarkisian and the Texas Longhorn coaching staff are still on the lookout for linebackers this recruiting cycle, and there’s a new name to watch. Four-star linebacker Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng from IMG Academy in Bradenton, FL, revealed earlier this evening that he has reduced his list of potential schools to six. Recently, the Longhorns have been mentioned as a contender, and they now seem to be a strong contender for Owusu-Boateng.

Owusu-Boateng visited Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and USC officially over the summer, and he has now planned an official visit to Texas for the Georgia game on October 19th. That weekend is expected to be a major event for visitors, offering a significant chance for the Longhorns to leave a strong impression on recruits.

Owusu-Boateng is the sibling of Jeremiah Owusu-Koramoah, a linebacker for the Cleveland Browns who played college football at Notre Dame. Given this connection and the family’s familiarity with the Fighting Irish, Notre Dame is expected to be a major player in his recruitment until the end.

According to 247Sports’ composite rankings, Owusu-Boateng is the 8th-ranked linebacker prospect in the nation and the 73rd-ranked overall prospect.
